Swords of Legends: Chaos of Yan Huo 2020 Movie – Storyline :

Ancient Sword and Wizardry: Aversion to Fire (古剑奇谭之厌火之乱 ) A thousand-year-old demon shrimp infiltrates the palace to take revenge on the emperor, but he is stopped by Creepy Master Le Wu Yi, who is highly capable of hunting him down, and the battle to save the people begins.

so fun, so vibrant. where else can you see a white clad outlaw monster-killing girl wielding her jade sword against a red-on-red meowing catgirl monster. taking refuge in peachblossom land with two companions inbetween, which is only slightly more of a utopia compared to the main setting. all beaming on 4K, set to a *lo-fi beats to study to* score.

endings a bit messy, which the iffy pacing (alreadly felt like it was nearing an end at the hour mark) leading up to it didn’t help, but at peak it’s the jp RPG formula perfectly translated to film. i get the feeling they had practice.

at last, i have decided to learn chinese!
