Storyline:
Striking Vipers: A 27-year-old Danny brings home a one-night stand, and afterwards plays the fighting game Striking Vipers with his friend Karl. 11 years later, Danny hosts a barbecue at his house with his wife Theo (Nicole Beharie), with whom he has a 3-year-old child. He has fallen out of contact with Karl, who is in a relationship with a woman called Mariella (Fola Evans-Akingbola). Karl arrives at the party and gives him a birthday present: Striking Vipers X along with the virtual reality disc needed to play the game.
Black Mirror Season 5 Episode 1 Review:
I’ve only watched season 1&2 of Black Mirror before, and they really impressed me. This episode, however, seemed a bit far away from the overall concept of the show. If it’s a movie alone, I may give it an 8, but it just doesn’t give the vibe of the show at all. The story itself is decent.
