Storyline:Ā DogmanĀ is a 2018 ItalianĀ drama filmĀ directed byĀ Matteo Garrone. It was selected to compete for theĀ Palme d’OrĀ at theĀ 2018 Cannes Film Festival.Ā At Cannes, Marcello Fonte won the award forĀ Best Actor.Ā It was selected as the Italian entry for theĀ Best Foreign Language FilmĀ at theĀ 91st Academy Awards.Ā Marcello is a quiet dog coiffeur that lives in theĀ MaglianaĀ neighborhood inĀ Rome: he spends his days between his work, the love for his daughter Alida and a peaceful relationship with his neighbors. However, he alsoĀ trades cocaineĀ in order to earn some more money, and this brings him to befriend Simoncino, a violent former boxer who terrorizes the neighborhood with acts of violence and robbing and gives Marcello a small percentage of the money he steals.
