‘Ana. All In. (Season 1) 2021’: TV Review :

Ana and her team will try to get to the truth and along the way they will encounter more than one obstacle, while we intuit that everything is even more murky than it seems on the surface. The fiction is based on the novel Ana by Roberto Santiago, here also in charge of the adaptation of him as a screenwriter. And although he uses effective material, it gives the feeling that he has not completely detached himself from the original format to search for his own voice through the resources of the new medium in which he operates. For example, in the first episode, Verdú introduces his character with a voiceover that later does not end up being a house trademark, but other narrations appear that display different visual proposals (a letter read that gives way to flashbacks, a narration on which infographics appear to give context…). That could be the most obvious flaw of Ana Tramel. The game, that she is not able to build an aesthetic personality (photography is the most bland) that stands out from other thrillers and even looks a bit out of date. On the other hand, it is clear that she wants to portray her protagonist as an anti-heroine with more shadows than lights (and speaking of shadows, Mare’s is elongated), but in her first episode she has not yet managed to arouse great feelings in us, neither for good nor for wrong, although something that may be corrected in the course of the episodes. In its favor, three more things: it is agile enough for us to overlook the negative, or at least it does not weigh us down, the interpretations are not bad (Israel Elejalde, always remarkable) and it is noted that the story is built on a documentation and a very solid knowledge of the subject. It can lead us to a good port.
